Chinese New Year is fun

Many Asian countries celebrate Lunar New Year - not just China. It lasts for several weeks and involves lots of celebration and feasting. The Book clubs have been busy making lanterns and adding them to the displays at their libraries. Here is South Library looking very festive.

If you want to see more lanterns the City Council is holding its annual Lantern Festival this weekend in Victoria Square.

Scrapbooking Superstars!

One of the recent holiday prgrammes held at South Learning Centre was 'Digital Scrapbooking CD Album'.  The 6 girls that attended this course used Paint Shop Pro and their own photos to create circle layouts that we printed, stuck on old cd's and bound together to make a mini album!  They quickly picked up the techniques involved with using Paint Shop Pro, and had great fun adding different embellishments and papers to their pages.  Everyone produced fantastic layouts, and enjoyed choosing and adding ribbons to their final product.  You can see some examples below.
